In this post, i am going to discuss features of javascript and some basic inforamtion of javascript.

What is a javascript ?

JavaScript, often abbreviated as JS, is a high-level, dynamic, weakly typed, object-based, multi-paradigm, and interpreted, light-weight client-side programming language. Alongside HTML and CSS, JavaScript is one of the three core technologies of World Wide Web content production.

Basically JS is used to make web pages interactive.

Majority of websites employ it, and all modern web browsers support it without the need for plug-ins by means of a built-in JavaScript engine.

File Extention of Javascript File is ‘.js’.

JavaScript is developed by Netscape Communications Corporation, Mozilla Foundation, Ecma International.

All Standard browser support javascript as per the Api structure and standard of EcmaScript.

It has an API for working with text, arrays, dates, regular expressions, and basic manipulation of the DOM.

Current Stable Version of Javascript is ECMAScript 2017, released on June 2017.

  • Chakra

Features Of Javascript : 

  1. It is a object-based scripting language.
  2. It provide Events for control over browser.
  3. It Handling dates and time.
  4. It Detecting the user’s browser and OS,
  5. It is light weighted.
  6. It is interpreter based scripting language.
  7. JavaScript is case sensitive.
  8. JavaScript is object based language as it provides predefined objects.
  9. Every statement in javascript must be terminated with semicolon (;).
  10. Easy to learn syntax is similar to C language.
  11. JavaScript is the ability to create new functions within scripts. Declare a function in JavaScript using function keyword.
